Derek Vaz is a Canadian designer and technologist partnering with ambitious organizations to define and create connected digital products and services.

As part of the global design leadership team of Huge in New York, Derek led digital strategy and design for American Student Assistance, Comcast, MassMutual, ExxonMobil, and Yahoo!. In 2014, he founded Huge Toronto to build and lead a multi-disciplinary design team across product, service, and communication design. There he directed work for Nike, Four Seasons, Rogers, Indigo, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canada Goose, and TELUS.

Today, Derek is the principal of his own independent research and design practice based in Toronto, Canada. He works with a global network of designers, engineers and researchers to help progressive organizations build socially impactful brands, products and services.

Derek's work has been recognized by the Pixel, Effie, Webby and Financial Times awards and featured in Communication Arts and Applied Arts. His thoughts on design, technology and business have been printed in Fast Company, Strategy, and Magenta.
