Derek Vaz

I am an Interaction Designer based in Toronto, Canada. Currently, I am part of leading design strategy agency Teehan+Lax.

I have a background in Computer Science and Psychology and have been working in the Interactive Design industry for over 8 years.

My expertise is interaction design, specializing in information architecture and interface production. I also have knack for untying knots.

As I mentioned before, I love to travel. I've lived in Italy, Egypt and the United States on two seperate occasions -- Dallas and the Bay Area. I can never get enough of Paris, New York City or San Francisco, cities I've visited and return to often.

I'm passionate about music and you can either find me deejaying a friend's gathering, fooling around on my guitar or listening to The Fader podcast on my iPod.

I've aquired my father's Pentax Spotmatic F and Vivitar 49mm lens in attempt to learn the art and science of photography from the ground up. My digital captures can be found at Flickr. Basketball is another passion - playing, watching, analysing. Also, as a Raptors fan it's nice to finally have my head out of the sand.
